FREUNDE SIND MEHR | FOLGE 1: ZUR FEIER DES TAGES

They have been friends since first grade: Pastor Johanna (Greta Galisch de Palma), amber artist Jette (Anne Weinknecht), pension owner Fabian (Nicola Fritzen) and craftsman Malte (Oliver Bröcker) grew up together in the GDR. Trust and cohesion have been top priorities for them since their childhood in Sepin. Together they have experienced both good and difficult times and have known how to solve their problems in a special way. That has made them strong over all these years. And as it happens, sometimes long-time friends know you better than you know yourself.

Six months ago, Jette's husband Oliver went out amber fishing - as he often does. He has been missing ever since. Jette and her eight-year-old son Finn firmly believe that he is still alive and will come back, while their older son Niklas feels that his mother does not want to face the truth. When Jette plans the upcoming birthday party for her husband Oliver and firmly believes that Oliver could appear there as well as her friends, the family situation threatens to escalate. But Malte, Johanna and Fabian also have the feeling that Jette must now slowly be brought back to reality. When wreckage from Oliver's boat is discovered on the Danish coast, Jette slowly begins to face the sad certainty. In the meantime, however, Niklas has found out that his father Oliver did not simply die in the waves of the Baltic Sea, but deliberately abandoned the family. The friends must act now and help Jette confront the whole truth so that she can once again give her sons the support the two boys need for their future.
