When the body of a murdered woman is discovered in an Isar defence system in Munich, detectives Cris Blohm (Johanna Wokalek) and Dennis Eden (Stephan Zinner) are faced with a puzzle. The confession of Léon Kamara (Yoli Fuller), the perpetrator who has already been caught and convicted, is at odds with the situation in which the body was found. He had allegedly dismembered the victim and disposed of her in the rubbish. Blohm and Eden now investigate the question of why Kamara voluntarily handed himself in, but then lied in his confession. Meanwhile, the two detectives are entrusted with the investigation into a fatal hit-and-run car accident. The perpetrator, Victor Reisinger (Shenja Lacher), an unemployed family man, is quickly found. When the detectives come across contradictions in his confession, Blohm seeks advice and support from the renowned lawyer August Schellenberg (Tobias Moretti). Further investigations also reveal that the backgrounds of the two cases are similar.
